In the final game of the KUA season against first place Vermont Academy KUA rode an eight run sixth inning to a 9-2 victory knocking VA into a tie for first place. Through the first five innings both teams failed to convert with runners in scoring position. Vermont was able to score lone runs in the first and third innings while KUA could only muster a third inning run. KUA threatened all game but could not get a key hit. They stranded two runners in the third and left the bases loaded in the fourth and fifth innings. In the sixth senior Nat Houston collected his third hit of the game to start things off. After a Scott Faucher single and a Ryan Cole bunt that VA could not properly defend, Ryan Burgess' walk plated the tying run. Nate Goss Woliner followed with a 2 RBI single and Andrew Weitzel had an RBI single of his own. After Goss Woliner took home on a wild pitch Nat Houston had his second hit of the inning and fourth of the game knocking in another run. Faucher and Cole followed with singles scoring the final runs of the inning.
After pitching in a close game and trailing all game Andrew Weitzel went out to finish off his complete game with a seven run lead. The KUA defense was strong all day making solid defensive plays behind Weitzel who gave up 2 runs, one earned on six hits and two walks. On the day Houston was 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI. Faucher had three hits Burgess and Goss Woliner each had two hits and two RBI. In the end KUA won the final four games of the season to improve their record to 6-5.
