KUA defeats VA in Wildcat battle

The Kimball Union Academy Wildcats played the Wildcats from Vermont Academy in a mid week contest.  Steve Kontos won the opening face-off, raced down the field and fired a laser pass to Justin Wright who then finished to put KUA up 1-0 eight seconds into the game. KUA added five more goals in first quarter and then two more in the early minutes of the second before Vermont rattled off two in a row of their own.  KUA led 10-2 at the half.  Both teams added four goals in the second half to end the game 14-6 in KUA’s favor.

KUA goal scorers included Wright (5g, 1a), Cody Danforth (3g, 1a), Alex Liebert (2g, 2a), Steven Kontos (3a), CJ Frates (1g, 2a), Ben Hayden (1g, 1a) and Sam Wyskiel (1g).  Michael Maggiore played in goal and recorded 7 saves. KUA (8-1) travels to NMH on Saturday to play NMH.
