Nine different players scored to pace the Wildcats to a 17-3 victory over Gould Academy. Both teams played hard from start to finish, but the Wildcats proved to be too much for the visiting team from Gould. Cody Danforth led the way with three goals and three assists, followed by fellow attackmen Justin Wright (3g, 1a) and Alex Liebert (3g, 1a). From the midfield, Kyle Curry netted three and line mates Ben Hayden (2g, 1a) and Steven Kontos (1g, 2a) made significant contributions as well. KUA scorers also included Nanthan Braginetz (1g, 1a), CJ Frates (1g, 1a), and Chris Morse (1a).
On defense, Kevin Vieira was tough around the crease and dangerous in the transition game. Seniors Juan Breton and John Planner played solid defense against Gould’s talented attack and Cullen Boyle, Taylor Cowan, and Franklin Boswell-Taylor defended aggressively from the first to the final whistle. Goalie Jake Gray started the game and posted four saves in the first quarter. Junior Michael Maggiore finished off the game and recorded five saves of his own.
KUA (7-1) travels to Vermont Academy Friday night and then Northfield Mt. Hermon on Saturday.
