The Holderness Bulls came to play today as they built a double-digit lead early in the first half. Give credit to the Wildcats though as they fought back and made it a 6-point game at the break. KUA's Shelby Pillsbury came out firing in the opening minutes of the second stanza scoring two quick buckets. Bianca Brenz drove hard to the basket on the next possession, missed the layup but got her own rebound and got fouled. She went 1-for-2 from the line and cut the deficit to 3. KUA would hang around until the 10:00 mark (37-45) but a lack of defensive intensity and rebounding spelled doom for the Wildcats. Holderness owned every board, forced turnovers and built an insurmountable lead to take home the victory.
Ainsley MacDonald played one of her best games of the season netting 11 points and dishing out 3 assists while playing tenacious defense throughout the contest. Also stepping up for the Cats was senior Faith Smith who pulled down a team-high 7 boards, scored 3 points and a block while commiting no turnovers. Freshman Gabby Diaz handed out 8 assists and grabbed 6 boards on the afternoon.
