After trailing by 6 points to Tilton at the break, KUA came storming back and scored 42 second half points shooting a blistering 65% from the field. Gabby Diaz came alive in the second stanza dishing out 4 assists and scoring all 8 of her points during a 14-5 run for the Cats. Co-Captain Tori Agel did the majority of her scoring (12 of 14 points) in the last 16 minutes. Agel also contributed 9 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals. The hustle play of the game has to go to Shelby Pillsbury who missed the back end of a 1 and 1 but followed her shot, got the rebound and put it back up for 2 more points. Sophomore Bianca Brenz scored the first 11 points for the Wildcats on drives and long range jump shots. She ended the contest with a game-high 22 points along with 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Ainsley MacDonald played her usual solid game contributing 4 points, 4 boards and 2 assists while Greydy Diaz seemed to hit big shots whenever her team needed one. She played a complete game scoring 13 points, pulling down 8 rebounds and dishing 4 assists to just 1 turnover.
A great team victory once again for the Wildcats. KUA improves to 8-4 and looks to avenge an earlier loss to Holderness when they travel to Plymouth on Saturday. Go KU!
