KUA Wins Opening Round of Pomfret Tournament

After a slow start by both teams. KUA eventually turned up the heat and built an 8-point lead by the break (19-11).  The Wildcats applied full-court pressure in the second half and scored several baskets off Westminster turnovers.  Tori Agel was effective driving to the basket on out of bounds plays and Greydy Diaz netted 8 points in a row to put the game out of reach for Westie.  Diaz finished with a game-high 15 points while Agel scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.  Shelby Pillsbury and Bianca Brenz led the team in rebounds grabbing 6 apiece while Faith Smith, Ainsley MacDonald and Jillian Fitzgerald did their part by grabbing 5 caroms each.  Freshman point guard Gabby Diaz led the team in assists with 4.
