Kimball Union Draws with Tilton to Stay Top of the Table

Kimball Union hosted second place Tilton School Friday evening at Pope Field. The top two teams in the league faced off and battled cleanly and fairly over the 90 minutes. Despite the scoreless draw, it was a very exciting affair played from box to box.  In the first half Kimball Union had a couple of chances, but none were on target. Nate Goss-Woliner handled many crosses and through balls, but didn’t need to make a save in the first half.  The second half saw Kimball Union continue to possess and pass through the midfield, but the Tilton defense led by captain Kris Brassard were equal to the task.  Tilton were always looking to spring free on the counterattack, but the KUA defense led by Nick Lincoln and Iver Hulleberg were equal to every challenge.  Nate Goss-Woliner had to make one save in the second half to earn his fifth shutout of the year. Kimball Union head to Vermont Academy on Monday to replay an earlier match postponed due to lightning.
