KUA 8 - Cardigan JV 6

A week after playing the Cardigan Varsity team, KUA had its hands full against a motivated and disciplined Cardigan JV squad. It was a game of surges as Cardigan scored first and then KUA scored the next three. Cardigan scored five of the next six goals to go ahead 6 – 4 early in the third, but KUA was able to even the score and then pull ahead. Cardigan pulled their goalie for an extra attacker with well over a minute left and created some good scoring chances, but the KUA defense was able to hold on to win 8 – 6. Despite what the score might suggest, the goaltenders at both ends played well, and Tyler Cowan made some spectacular saves for KUA late in the third period. Tyler Bicknell scored twice for KUA, and Neil MacKenzie scored one goal and added three assists.
