KUA vs Cushing

1/7 The KUA Boys Varsity Hockey Team opened the 2006 calendar year by dropping a 3-2 decision to #3 ranked Cushing Academy.  After falling behind 1-0 after a tentative first period, KUA responded with two solid periods of hockey.  Although KUA had some quality chances in the second period they were unable to convert any opportunities and the second period ended 1-0 in favor of Cushing.  In the third Cushing quickly went up 2-0, but KUA came right back as Jamie Schmidt redirected a point shot by Sass Schirmer on the power play.  Cushing once again took a two goal lead 6 minutes in the third.  A Josh Boissoneau goal cut Cushing's lead to one and that was the way the game ended.  Ben Severance made 20 saves for KUA while TJ Massie made 16 saves for Cushing.
