Wildcats Win by Run Rule over NMH

Adi Runge hit two home runs and drove in five as Kimball Union defeated Northfield Mount Hermon 16-1 in four innings on Friday. Runge homered twice in the fourth inning alone, as the Wildcats batted through the lineup.

KUA scored nine runs in the fourth inning to end the game early. Runge hit a solo home run, Zoie Stevens singled, scoring one run, Stella Prieto tripled, scoring two runs, Avy Arias singled, scoring one run, and Runge hit a grand slam.

KUA got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kennedy FitzSimons tripled home Runge and then stole home herself.

The Wildcats scored five runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Hannah Young was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, FitzSimons drew a walk, scoring one run, and Stevens doubled, scoring three runs.

Stella Kozak earned the win for KUA. The pitcher allowed four hits and one run over three innings, striking out two and walking four. Anna Baker threw one inning of no-run ball in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit, striking out one and walking none.

KUA accumulated 15 hits in the game. Stevens, Baker, Gabi Young, and Arias each collected multiple hits.
