Wildcats Win Big Over NMH

Emma Lapsley pitched five shutout innings while striking out seven and allowing only two hits as the Wildcats beat Northfield-Mount Hermon 12-0 in the season opener on Wednesday. Lapsley helped her own cause at the plate, belting a double and earning a walk. Freshman Adi Runge had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a single, a double, and a triple while senior Shannon Moran belted the team's first homerun of the season, sending a two-run shot deep over the centerfield fence in the second inning. Every KUA starter reached base, either via hits or walks, and the team defense was solid, making only one error in twelve chances. Next up for the Wildcats is another home game, this Friday at 4:30 vs. Brewster.
