The Wildcats seemed a little out of synch in their first contest against Cardigan and were hoping for a better showing in the rematch. The Cougars could easily have had an off game the second time around as they were just returning from their long mid-fall break. In any event, both teams played well, and the result was an exciting game. Cardigan put a lot of pressure on the Wildcats in the first half, scoring one on a long blast and forcing keeper Max van Dijk to make several big saves. The play seemed to shift during the second half with KUA creating several great chances, including one shot that beat the keeper but hit the crossbar. The Wildcats came close to scoring twice in the closing minutes and managed to put a final shot on goal with five seconds left, but the game ended at 1- 0. The Wildcats will travel to New Hampton on Wednesday for the first of their four remaining games.
