The third race of the year was held in Woodstock, VT at Mount Peg, and hosted by Woodstock Union High School. While it was a cooler day, it was much dryer than last year. While there were some roots and rocks that had not yet fully dried from the prior night’s showers, the rain had made for a fast and firm race course. This race course has the second most elevation gain of the season, with the A and B riders topping out at around 500 feet gained and descended each lap. The race proved to be a difficult one for AJ Noel as he finished in 9th place, about 6 mins back from the winner and nearly 4 mins from the 3rd place finisher. Liam McCoart had a similar performance, with a 26th place finish, finishing only 6 mins from the podium. The C group had another solid race day with Tristin Black 57th, Aiden Davie 59th, Trey Masson 61st and Jacob Greenfield 65th all had great races. Jacob and Trey both battling through and over rough terrain on bikes with limited suspension, make each root and rock feel that much bigger. That said, they pushed through the pain and rode hard all of the way through the finish line. Lastly, Charlie White had his best race of his KUA career, again. He finished in 8th place, and only because of an equipment failure. Charlie’s improvement from last fall to this fall is a testament to his dedication and hard work. Again, it was a great day for a race, and fun was had by all.
