Kimball Union Academy went a perfect 3-0 in this week’s New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) tournament quarterfinals, setting the stage for exciting semifinal rounds on Saturday, March 7.
Girls’ Varsity Basketball: 2:30 p.m.at Home The top-ranked Wildcats girls’ basketball team will host the fourth-seeded Kingswood Oxford School in the semifinals of the Class B tournament. The game will mark the second-straight year the KUA girls’ have hosted a NEPSAC semifinal.
Boys’ Varsity Basketball: 3 p.m. at Cushing Academy On the boys’ basketball side, the fifth-seeded Wildcats earned their ticket to the Class AA semifinals by virtue of their road win over the fourth-ranked Winchendon School. Up next for KUA will be Saturday’s bout with top-ranked Cushing Academy.
Boys’ Varsity Ice Hockey: 4 p.m. at St. Mark’s School On the ice, the sixth-seeded KUA boys’ hockey team also played the role of spoiler, earning a gritty 1-0 upset win over No. 3 Salisbury in its quarterfinals clash. The Wildcats will now travel to Southborough, Massachusetts to face No. 2 St. Mark’s School, with a berth to Sunday’s championship on the line.
