Congratulations to the Kimball Union Boys' Varsity Hockey team on a hard-fought victory against a number one ranked Salisbury. KUA quickly answered Salisbury's first goal, and held onto the lead all the way through the final nail-biting minute. Exceptional saves by goalies on both ends, and as always, the Kimball Krazies were out in full force. Final score: 3-2.
“We’re proud of our senior class and the entire team for fighting through some serious challenges down the stretch run to play our best,” said KUA Head Coach Tim Whitehead, “and to defeat such strong teams like Exeter, Rivers, and Salisbury in the Elite 8, makes this experience extra-special for us because of the success and respect those programs have earned over the years. The truth is our three NEPSAC Tournament games could have gone either way, so we feel quite fortunate to have come out on top.”
En route to their second consecutive NEPSAC Elite 8 Championship, the Wildcats won three other tournament titles along the way; the Stanstead College Showcase, the prestigious Flood Marr Holiday Tournament, and the Lakes Region League Championship. Kimball Union finished the 2017-18 season with a 30-5-2 overall record, which included a 2-2 tie with their eventual NEPSAC final’s opponent Salisbury back on December 15.
