10/25/17- KUA Takes on the Proctor Hills For a Second Time

On October 25, 2017, the Kimball Union Academy Cross Country Team traveled to Proctor Academy to compete with Proctor Academy as well as Vermont Academy. Every runner showed a great performance in the individual results. The Boys’ Team had a very strong effort and a solid performance with their 2nd place finish (25 points). Daniel Simek '22 took 4th place overall (21:24), while having exceptional stability on a treacherous, muddy, and hilly course. He was followed by team captain, Jadon Boudreau '18 in 5th place (21:27), and Cameron Plume '21 in 6th place (21:29). Charlie Myers '18 came in 10th place (23:00). Myers was followed by team captain Yan Shikhirman '18 in 11th place (23:05), who was recovering from a foot injury. Tongbun Pengkaew '18 came in 12th place (23:19) and Noah Farnsworth '19 came in 13th place (23:41) to round out the top seven runners. Farnsworth showed a substantial increase in his running speed during the second loop.  The Girls’ Team had a close race, coming in second place to Vermont Academy with only a 2 point deficit. Eleanor Ashton came in 2nd place (25:50), Tiantian Xia (Rachel) came in 3rd place (27:17), Lan Vy Tran Nguyen (Nancy) came in 7th place (28:49). The team will return to action next Wednesday at the Lakes Region Championship at Tilton Academy.
