An odd Hockey score, but the KUA-Brewster game was fast-paced and fun to watch. Both teams had short benches and novice goaltenders, but the players on both sides worked hard from start to finish in a game that featured end-to-end play and virtually no penalties. The Wildcats got on the board early when Greg Surgenor scored a short-handed goal (on KUA’s one penalty of the game) and then minutes later fired a perfect pass to Matt Burg to free him up for a breakaway goal. Greg would score again, Ben Brady would get two and Dylan van Leuwen-Hall, Alex Regnery, Chris Adam, Brandon Seaver and Duncan Spilsbury would each net one. Ben Brady had a beautiful assist on Brandon Seaver’s goal and Brandon responded with great assists on goals by Greg and Duncan. Parker Hall and Jay Cogan were very effective as a defense pair, but Alex Plummer stole the show stepping in as goalie with no warning and making a number of spectacular saves. The Wildcats built up a significant lead during the first period, but Brewster came back hard in the second and third periods to keep the game competitive until the closing horn.
