Malik Abu's 26 points paces KUA to a one point victory over Tilton, 72-71.

Kimball Union boys basketball team travelled to Tilton School today for an important Class AA matchup and came away with a victory, snatching a win by the final score,72-71.  Kimball Union welcomed Devin Gilligan back after missing the last three games due to injury and he played an important role tonight hitting for 19 points.  At the half Tilton was up 13, 40-27 and they built the lead up to 15 early in the second half.  The Wildcats picked up their defensive intensity and sparked by two deep threes from Danny Eiber began to pick away at Tilton’s lead.  KUA took the lead for the first time 70-69 with 50 seconds remaining in the game.  Tilton came down and hit a shot to go up one with 35 seconds on the clo.ck.  KUA’s Malik Abu had 26 points and 10 rebounds for the night but none were more important than his last two as he calmly hit two free throws with 4.6 seconds left to win the game putting KUA up one.  Tilton’s Wayne Seldon (game high 34pts)  who was hot all night going 7-8 from beyond the arc was unable to hit his last shot of the night as time ran out.  KUA now travels to Maine this weekend to play Hebron and Kents Hill.  The Wildcats now stand at 15-5 for the season.
