Dr. Thomas Pasquini Named Dartmouth GK-12 Partner Teacher.
Dr. Thomas Pasquini has accepted an invitiation from Dartmouth College to be a Partner Teacher for the 2012-13 academic year through their GK-12 grant, "Fostering Scientific Creativity by Building Connections and Improving Science Communications Skills." Dr. Pasquini will partner will graduate fellow Rebecca Williams from the Department of Engineering and will mentor her for 10 hours a week while she works with the Kimball Union science department and students.
Dr. Pasquini holds a BA in Physics from Dartmouth College and received his PhD in atomic physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for his work with Bose-Einstein condensates (together with his colleagues at MIT, he holds the record for the lowest man-made temperature). He joined the Kimball Union Academy faculty full time in 2010, teaching in both the math and science departments. He coaches the KUA STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) team. The KUA STEM team won the New Hampshire State Championship in the RWDC (Real World Design Contest) in 2012.
