Tough Conditions, Tough Loss for KUA Golf

The KUA Golf Team was back in action Tuesday again Vermont Academy at Hooper Golf Course in Walpole, NH. The conditions were brutal with forty five degree weather, rain, wind and heavy fog. At most points throughout the match, the team couldn't see twenty feet in front of them.

Taylor Millward began scoring with a positive 3 and 2 win at the #1 slot. Michael Novey ran into a tough VA opponent who shot par against him as Michael lost his match 2 & 1. The duo lost their better ball match 3 and 1 as Vermont Academy opened up an early 2-1 points lead.

In his first match, Zach Musgrave hung tough at the #3 spot but had a tough ninth hole, finally losing his match 2 down. Playing up at #4, Sam Hermann played well enough for a solid 3 and 2 victory. Sam and Zach just barely lost their best ball match with the final tally being 2 down.

Finally, the dynamic duo from Quebect Martin Ouellette and Gabrielle Veilleux manned the #5 and #6 spots respectively. Both lost their matches on the final hole after being up for a majority of the day, they each hit shots out of bounds leading to their eventual demise. The final score of both matches was 1 down. The boys did muster a halve in their better ball match but would gained a full point with a half on the ninth hole.

Overall, it was a tough loss for the KUA Wildcats. If a couple of holes had gone a little differently, the match would have turned in their favor. They made a valient effort in tough conditions and look forward to a rematch a week from Friday, May 1st at their home course, Hanover Country Club. KUA takes on Tilton this Friday before long weekend at Lochmere Golf Club.
