The JV Field hockey girls fought hard against Sant Bani's team, one made up of JV and Varsity level players. Our defense faced a total of 11 corners but still prevented them from using these scoring opportunities. Late in the first half Sant Bani finally found the goal, but the KUA girls were still very much in the game as they often penetrated through Sant Bani's midfield and defense, and just missed several chances for a goal. In the second half Emily Rothman had a direct shot on the goalie, but a quick reaction from her prevented the goal for KUA. Sant Bani scored again and put in an insurance goal late in the game. KUA goalie Becky Young had 3 saves in goal.Led by Captain Holly McLaughlin and fellow veteran seniors Young-Ji Choi and Tara Kim, every player on the team put out a great effort throughout the game, they never gave up and played hard for possession and forward advancement of the ball. I am very proud of all 19 girls who have never let the win/loss tally effect their enthusiasm for their team and their desire to play well in every game. Thanks go out to Grace's Mom, Mrs. Stetson, for supporting the girls and for the supply of half-time, fresh oranges. The team and I look forward to our next game at home on Wednesday against Proctor, a team we tied earlier in the season.
