KUA's Peter Abdu, New England Road Cycling Champion
Kimball Union Academy sophomore Peter Abdu, son of William and Linda Abdu of Hanover, NH placed fourth in the 22 mile Newfound Classic Road Race enabling him to secure the overall "Category C" title for this year's New England Prep Cycling League. Abdu and thirty-five other cyclists representing ten New England schools, competed on an undulating road course that circled Newfound Lake. While some sections of road were under nearly nine inches, riders were, at times able to reduce their speed to walking pace to insure safe passage.

Although the village of nearby Bristol, NH required evacuation because of the threat of flooding from an endangered damn, the race was completed successfully without any mishap. Abdu's KUA teammate, John Moses of Lebanon placed third overall in this years championship.
