In an attempt to meet a need for high-quality professional development opportunities for environmental science educators, the E.E. Just Environmental Leadership Institute for Educators is helping K-12 teachers develop curricula and methods that will promote better understanding of environmental issues, the leadership skills to affect change and the inspiration to bring their classrooms alive. We have formed partnerships with environmental education experts both locally and from around the country. These include Vermont Institute for Natural Science’(VINS), Vital Communities, Seattle based Facing the Futures’ systems modeling experts see Systems (Lebanon, NH), the Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education (NYC), the Student Conservation Association (SCA - Charlestown, NH), Sierra Club’s Student Coalition, and many more (see www.eejust.org for a complete list).

"Close cooperation with leaders in environmental education offers mentoring so critical to our program's mission: Stewardship for Sustainability; Leadership for the Future," said Kimball Union Head of School Michael J. Schafer.

Founded in 2005, Kimball Union Academy's E.E. Just Environmental Leadership Institute offers ten different one-week Educator Institutes during July.
