KUA vs Cushing Academy

Kimball Union faced a very scrappy and aggressive Cushing team on the road on Saturday.  The Purple Penguins came out with fire in their eyes determined to knock off the Wildcats, but Quinn Sendall and company simply would not have it. Sendall shot 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and added a 6-for-7 performance from the free throw line en route to scoring a career-high 22 points for the black and orange.  Cindy Roseen chipped in with several rebounds and 17 points, while Laura Calder held Cushing's top scorer to just 7 points while chipping in 10 points of her own.  Marion Githegi, Lauren Darnall, Laura Berndt, Kelly Champagne and Katie Wardrop all made key contributions while Reggie Hammond, our emotional floor leader, matched Cushing's intensity and helped lead Kimball Union to a 51-39 victory.   KUA improves to 15-2 and will host Lakes Region rival Brewster Academy on Wednesday.
