KUA tops VA 7-2 home opener

On the chilly KUA home opener and first official match of the season, KUA topped VA 7-2! Our number one seed Maike Lasser lost to a well-seasoned player, but had a great match. Our number two seed, Anna Rogers, maintained a lead for both of her sets, earning a 6-3, 6-3 win. Number three seed Sofia Garner likewise fought to a 6-1, 7-5 win! Hannah Hertzberg cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win in the number 4 slot. In their first singles matcha for the wildcats, #5 and #6 seeds Emily Homma and Kristen Richardson won 7-5, 6-3 and 6-4, 6-3 respectively. KUA Played several very strong doubles matches as well. Rogers and Lasser lost a close 6-8 match in the #1 spot. Garner and Hillgrove won 8-6 in the #2 doubles seed. #3 seeds Z and Izzy won a tight 9-7 match! KUA is excited to take on Brewster this coming Wednesday at home.
