Feichtinger Cup and Harry Robinson ’74 Memorial Ski Day
This year's Fei Cup will be held at Pico Mountain, Vermont on Saturday, February 9. KUA legend Georg Feichtinger H'02 will be skiing the slopes, as will a number of previous Fei Cup winners, including Jay Stewart '79 and Nikki Williams '02, hoping to defend and/or reclaim their titles. If you aren’t up for the challenge of a GS race, we hope you will consider joining us for a ski day and take advantage of the discounted lift tickets.
Georg Feichtinger H’02, affectionately known as Mr. Fei, was a faculty member on the Hilltop for 32 years. He and his wife Katy arrived on campus in the fall of 1970 and moved into their first KUA home in Chellis Hall. They eventually moved to Frost House with their children, Maria ’89 and Christoph ’96, both accomplished skiers on Mr. Fei’s teams. During his tenure at KUA, Mr. Fei taught history, coached varsity soccer, varsity skiing, and worked with the Outing Club.
Mr. Fei left a legacy of sportsmanship and dedication that remains in the hearts and minds of his students and his colleagues. The Feichtinger Cup Ski Race is one of the many ways that KUA alumni, students, parents, and faculty honor Mr. Fei’s lifetime commitment to KUA. In 2015, the ski race was expanded to honor Harry Robinson '74, a varsity athlete in football, skiing, and lacrosse, for his long-time dedication to KUA as a volunteer, especially in the growth of the Feichtinger Cup Ski Race and for his love of skiing.
