The KUA girls’ jv hoops squad scored a big win today over St Paul’s School in KUA’s Alumni Gym, avenging a loss at St Paul’s in the Wildcats first game of the season. This time, it was a total team effort from the ‘Cats that sealed the win. KUA took an early lead, but saw the Pelicans swoop back into the game at the end of the first half. The Pelucan press rattled the Wildcats for a bit but they regrouped at the half and played a smothering defense and a oatient offense that led to the final margin. Juniors Kate Mackey and Winsome Neville may have scored the most points, ten and nine respectively, but it was the hustle and all around gritty play by Junior Haley McNamara, Seniors Sunny Sun, Nancy Nguyen and Alina Maesang, Junior Nikki Petrescu-Boboc and Sophomore Maddy Bridge that really defined what a team effort can accomplish when everyone plays at 100% effort. A great, defining win for this tough-minded team!
