Gilbert P. Pike

Gilbert P. Pike, 97, died Tuesday Apirl 6, 2010 at his home. Gilbert was the son of the late Carleton and Blanche Pike in Mashpee, MA on June 12, 1912 and moved to Lyme, NH and graduated from Kimball Union Academy in 1929. He then moved to Littleton to begin an eleven year career with the Littleton National Bank before transferring to Littleton Savcings bank where he subsequently retired in 1977 as the Executive Vice-President.

Gilbert was married to Elizabeth Pike for 55 years until her death in 1991. He is survived by his children and their spouses Jeanne and Cressy Goodwin of Tolland, CT, Carol and John Casey of Burlington, MA and Carleton Pike of Austin, TX, seven grandchildren as well as nine great-grandchildren and host of friends. Gilbert was very active in the community until he reached his 90s. He was the past President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Littleton Rotary Club. He also served on the library and cemetery committees for a number of years. He was a 32nd degree Mason of the Burns Lodge # 66 F & AM since 1950 where he had been secretary and organist for the lodge and the Scottish Rite Valley of Lancaster and Littleton for a number of years.

He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club and also a member of the Bektash Temple of the Scottish Rite. He was a member of the North Star Lodge of Perfection in Lancaster, Washington Council Princes of Jerusalem and the Littleton Chapter of Rose Croix and The First Congregation Church in Littleton. He formerly was the organist for the Christian Science Church of Littleton and enjoyed donating his time with the Meals on Wheels program for the Senior Center until he was no longer able.

A Masonic service will be held at 5pm Thursday April 8th, 2010 with calling hours to follow until 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Gene Mockabee officiating and interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the Senior Center of Littleton. Arrangements and care have been entrusted to Keller & Pillsbury Funeral Homes.
