With rumblings of Holderness having a short bench before the game, KUA was eager to jump on the chance to snag a W. Three minutes into the game Young Jin Shin ripped a pass across the house for a backdoor goal from Alyse Fife. This is the first lead KUA has experienced this season. They held off the Bulls for 5 more minutes before a face off in the KUA end proved the perfect set up for Holderness to tie up the score. Holderness hit crossbars and in, backdoor passes, give and go's and every other Rock 'em Sock 'em play to end the period 1-4. They did not stop there. With their short bench, they kept trucking with the second period ending 1-7. Not letting Holderness have the last laugh, defenseman Lindsay Peckham took things into her own hands near the end of the game. Lindsay took off with the puck from deep in her defensive zone. One dangle, two dangle, then three, and with a little help from Alyse Fife setting a pick (apparently this happens in hockey now too!), Lindsay walked in alone on the goalie and ended the game with a "we'll see you next time" kind of goal. Final score was 2-9 for Holderness. KUA looks on to a home game against Exeter this Saturday.
