Wildcats defeat the Bobcats.

Even though it was a rainy Monday afternoon the Wildcats came out ready to take on the Brewster Bobcats. KUA started off with a strong offensive push and were able to score the first goal off of a corner play, where Hannah McGrath was able to get a touch on the ball to send it into the net. The Bobcats had a few breakaways but Coreen Carley and Isabela Cheung played a strong defensive game keeping them from scoring. The second half was much like the first with KUA controlling the ball in the midfield and being able to carry the ball up the sideline. KUA scored again with a pass from Maddie Gesner to Lexi Bartlett who took a nice reverse shot to send it into the net. 5 minutes later Brewster scored a goal making it a 2-1 game. Kelsie Worth played a strong game in the midfield keeping the ball in our offensive zone. KUA was able to earn another corner in which Worth rushed into the circle playing pads and with a scrabble for the ball in front of the goalie she was able to get a stick on it and score the goal. Brewster played a good defensive game and continued to have breakaways into our defensive end, however, KUA was able to hold them off and did not allow them to score again. With about seven minutes left in the game Lily carried the ball towards the top of the circle and sent a hard hit inside, in which Maddie Hastings was able to make a nice deflection and sent the ball high into the net. KUA advances to 5-2-1 on the season and will travel to Deerfield Academy on Wednesday to play a 4:30pm game.
