Engelhardt hits two free throws with 6 seconds left for a 44-43 KUA win.
In a tough defensive battle all night, Exeter took a two point lead into the locker room at the half and then built it up to a ten point lead with 8 minutes left in the second half, 41-31. KUA stepped up their defensive pressure another notch and started to chip away at Exeter’s lead. KUA was down 41-38 with 4 minutes left and then down one, 43-42 with less than a minute left in the game. Exeter went to the foul line but missed the front end of a one and one; KUA pushed the ball up the court with Will Engelhardt getting fouled with 6 seconds left on the clock. Will calmly sank both free throws to put the Wildcats on top at the end for an exciting 44-43 win. Will went 6-6 from the foul line in the second half to end up with a team high 11 points. Trent Noordsij followed with 9 and Spencer Cline with eight ( 6-7 from the line). KUA travels down to Babson College this weekend for two games, Saturday vs Blair Academy and Sunday vs Andover.
