KUA loses home opener to Bradford Academy 64-54

The Kimball Union Boys basketball team played the first game of the season at home and ended up losing to Class AA rival Bradford Academy 64-54.  The Wildcats struggled at the start of the night to find any scoring rhythm shooting just 7-29 from the field in the first half to go down by 14, 37-23.  They settled down in the second half shooting 50% from the field as they cut Bradford’s margin to 6 with 9 minutes left to play.   A few costly KUA turnovers with Bradford hitting two deep threes allowed them to settle things and win by 10.  Bradford’s Nate Tenglia led all scorers with 18 points for the night.  Kimball Union had three players in double figures: Trent Noordssij with 11, Spencer Cline with 13 and Duje Radja with 10.  Kimball Union travels down to Deerfield for their next match on Saturday.
