KUA Fights Hard and Leaves With a W

KUA braved the viscous rainstorm on highway 89 to get to Proctor Academy on this cold New Hampshire afternoon and left Andover, NH with a convincing 1-0 victory. KUA began the game strong. All KUA players were successfully cutting to the ball, moving the ball wide and down the field, and keeping their sticks down. Sweeper Jesse Leung even had an exciting and dramatic diving save in the defensive circle. After a fierce breakaway from the midfield, Maggie Hicks successfully scored KUA's lone goal. However, KUA had an impressive 12 shots throughout the game coming from Lucy Pike, Natalie Paine, Grace Bonner, Gabby Pais, Caitlin Doyle and Hicks. Pike likewise had several aggressive breakaways. Midfielders Dorodia Huang, Xyien Xu and Paine did an excellent job running the field, supporting both the offense and defense in the defensive zone with strong sticks and running speed. Anda Brown hung tough the entire game as KUA's center defensive player. She kept her stick down behind just about every player on our team when they had possession, and was there at nearly every gained possession to either carry the ball wide or hit it to space. Sunny Sun and Kristen Richardson held the defensive line strong as well. Reagan Schaffer once again stepped up to the plate to help her team out in the net, and had the field hockey game of her life. She remained calm under fire, with nine incredible saves. Her clears wide were strong, and she successfully secured  KUA's victory. KUA is excited to take on Holderness for their last game on Saturday. Go wildcats!
