Wildcats Defeat Bobcats in Semis

The Kimball Union Wildcats (3rd seed) hosted the Brewster Academy (7th seed) today in the NEPSAC semifinals.  The Wildcats dominated play for the first ten minutes stepping to ball and to pushing it into the circle.  The Bobcats gained traction and brought the ball down into their offensive zone, earning corners and creating scoring opportunities.  The game remained 0-0 at the end of the half.
The Wildcats controlled the second half.  Senior Captain Miranda Judd (Lebanon, NH) scored the first goal, assisted by sophomore Taylor Dudek (Auburn, NH) on a corner, with 19 minutes remaining in the game.  Four minutes later, sophomore Mia Brown (Woodstock, VT) tipped in a shot from Judd.   Senior Kylie Shields scored the third goal for the Wildcats, assisted by Brown.   Other forwards, sophomore Maddy Gesner (West Newton, MA) and senior captain Kelsey Pollard (Meriden, NH) also played strong offensively pushing the ball up into the Bobcat circle.
Junior Sofia DiAntonio (Cornish, NH) earned 5 saves in net for the Wildcats and her 6th shutout.
The Wildcats play the Rivers School on Sunday at the Pomfret School in the NEPSAC Championship at 11am.
