Kimball Union Academy boys’ varsity lacrosse team opened the 2015 season when they traveled to Boston to play Buckingham, Brown and Nichols. Despite the long bus ride, KUA had the momentum early in the game. The Wildcats led 5-2 at the half and then 7-4 going into the fourth quarter. BBN scored three late goals to tie the score 7-7 at the end of regulation. In overtime, KUA's Eric Megnia scored to give the Wildcats an 8-7 win on the road. Megnia finished the game with four goals and one assists. Mike Lombardi contributed two goals and Kenny Speak scored one and assisted on another. Will Harrigan scored the other Wildcat goal. Cam Beecy won 60% of the face offs and Nick Parker made seven saves in net for KUA. Greg Surgenor picked up three ground balls on defense.
KUA (1-0) plays their home opener Monday (today) at 4:30pm on Pope Field against Lakes Region rival Proctor Academy.
