KUA's Late Rally Falls Short

Kimball Union 1 vs. Holderness 3
KUA’s 2 game winning streak came to an end tonight against Holderness. The girls fell behind early due to a few tough bounces as Holderness threw everything at the net in the first period. The girls were behind 2-0 entering the 2nd period, but they came out strong and played the period to a draw. KUA carried that momentum into the 3rd period and it finally paid off when Sr. Caroline McNair made a great offensive play to find her open defense partner, Jr. Maya Karosas. Karosas’ initial shot was blocked but her next attempt was tipped into the far corner for Fr. Izzy Hill’s second goal in as many games. KUA continued to push and came within inches of tying the game before Holderness took a 3-1 lead. The girls were being cheered on by their “Hockey Sisters” from the Twin Valley Youth Hockey U10 team and they did an excellent job of modeling resilience and persistent effort tonight for their young mentees.
KUA returns to action Fri., Jan. 24 with a 4:15pm home game at Proctor.
