Southfield Tournament: Game #1 vs. Millbrook
KUA 1 vs. Millbrook 2
KUA dropped game one of the Southfield Tournament today by a score of 2-1. Millbrook struck early to take a 1-0 lead and the rest of the period was a tight battle. KUA had some great looks in the 2nd frame, but it was Millbrook that found the back of the net to go up by a score of 2-0. The girls came out hard in the 3rd period and put the pressure on Millbrook’s defense. Freshman Julia Surgenor found a loose puck in front of the Millbrook net to get KUA within one at the 9:52 mark of the 3rd period. Seniors Hannah Madden and Morgan Walsh had assists on the goal. The girls continued to push and pulled the goalie for the extra attacker, but could not find the tying goal. It was a solid effort from the net out and one the girls will look to build on as they resume action tomorrow.
Game two of the Southfield Tournament is at 10:30am tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 21) when KUA takes on Groton.
