The Wildcats Come Back Late in Second Half Against the Bulls

With a quick warm up, the Wildcats stepped out today to play the Holderness Bulls just a day after a game against Vermont Academy.  The Bulls scored the first three goals then junior Morgan Walsh (Duxbury, MA) scored the first goal for the Wildcats.  A minute later, junior Storm Sideleau (Contoocook, NH) scored again to bring the score to 3-2.  Both teams fought to gain possession and take scoring opportunities throughout the first half; the score at the half was 8-5 with the Wildcats trailing by 3.
The Bulls scored a quick 2 goals at the beginning of second half then the game remained scoreless for the next 16 minutes as both teams redefended throughout the midfield.  The Bulls scored again bringing the score to 11-5 but the Wildcats would not give up.  Senior Maura Doyle (Merrimac, MA) scored off a pass from junior Ali Pollard (Meriden, NH) with 3:48 remaining; junior Ellie Harrigan (Park City, UT) scored with 1:27 remaining; Walsh scored at 1:05 and again with 4 seconds left.  It is hard to tell what would have happened if the game was two minutes longer!  The Wildcats played as a team throughout the 50 minutes and right until the last whistle.
Walsh finished the game with 4 goals, Doyle earned a hat trick, Sideleau and Harrigan each picked up one goal apiece.  Christine Bouchat-Bonin played another stellar game with 7 saves in net.

The Wildcats have their last home game on Wednesday on Grenier Field at 4 against the New Hampton Huskies.
