After two low scoring games, the Wildcats were looking to break out in their final game in 2012 against Lakes Region rival Brewster Academy. Brewster had a number of strong skaters, but the Wildcats had the early advantage, scoring three unanswered goals in the first period, and never relinquished control. Trey McDougall, Glen Corey and Chris Anderson all scored in the opening period, with assists going to Mike Powell and Teagen Burnham. Trey scored again in the second period, with an assist from Glen Corey, and then PJ Tessier scored, with an assist from AJ Barre, to put KUA up 5 - 0 after two. PJ scored his second goal early in the third period, with assists from AJ Barre and Marc Maggiore, and Glen Corey and Max Davis each scored in the closing minutes, with assists credited to Trey McDougall, Mike Powell, Brandon Seaver and Ben Brady. Morgan Dewdney played well after having missed the previous two games, and Zach Hallock and Matt Donovan were strong on the blue line. Andrew Jarrett had a good day in his first game back as a defenseman after four games as a forward, and goalie Jordan White left the game after two periods having allowed no goals. Josh Young, fresh off his triumphant role as a piano player in the KUA Candlelight Service the night before, made several big saves in the KUA net although Brewster was able to put two by him. The Wildcats head off for a well-deserved rest, but will start right up again in January, playing against the Hanover High JV team on Thursday, January 3rd.
Congratulations to Teagen Burnham, who was elected as team captain, and to Assistant Captains Mike Powell and PJ Tessier.
