KUA Starts Strong
The KUA Lady Wildcats emerged victorious in their season-opener today at Vermont Academy. Every team member scored, including newcomers Kayleigh Coombs ‘16 (Claremont, NH), Miranda Judd ‘16 (Lebanon, NH) and Alicia Malagon ‘15 (Mexico) with their first-ever varsity buckets. Seniors Fiekah Fataar (South Africa) and Gretchen Schissel (Newport, NH) scored 12 and 10 points respectively while sophomore Shannon Walsh (Pelham, NH) recorded a double-double with a game-high 15 points and 17 rebounds. KUA shot 43% from the floor while grabbing 44 rebounds.
KUA’s focus and intensity on the defensive end kept the hosts at bay, allowing them just 9 points per half. With the 55-18 victory, KUA improves to 1-0 and will now turn their attention to Lake Region League rival Proctor Academy.
