After trading goals for most of the first quarter, KUA pulled away from Tilton for a 7-3 halftime lead and 12-4 advantage at the end of three quarters. Playing at home, the game turned in favor for the Wildcats when they started winning ground balls. By game’s end, the Wildcats held a 42-31 advantage in this critical aspect of the game. Midfielders Ryan Lund and Andrew Jarrett, as well as Attackman Max Abendroth each scooped up 5 ground balls, while midfielders PJ Tessier and Karl Menzel earned 4 GBs on the day.
KUA’s offense, sparked by Ian’s Timpone 4 goals and 3 assists, found its rhythm. Ten of the Wildcats’ 13 goals were assisted. Max Abendroth contributed 3 goals, Kevin Vieira netted 2 and assisted on 3, Andrew Jarrett dished off 3 assists, Andrew Cole scored twice, Lund one, Will Ralston one, and PJ Tessier also earned an assist.
In goal, Tim McNair made 8 saves and Santiago Morales recorded 2. KUA’s D-poles played aggressively all afternoon. Pat Lynch, Trey McDougall, Riley Alderman, Eric Bogart, and Peter Prendergast shared duties on defense while Hunter Braswell and Mike Powell alternated runs at long pole.
