The girls JV hockey team traveled to Holderness and won the game with a great team effort. With the help of her hard-working defenders, Kate Dong was flawless in goal, turning away 18 shots and recording her first shutout! Mary Leech scored both goals for KUA on rushes that started in our defensive zone. Throughout the game, we were able to rotate four lines, and each line played well to help secure this victory. Leech scored her first goal five minutes into the game, but Holderness put on the pressure, making it difficult for KUA to get the puck out of the defensive zone to generate offense. After a scoreless second period, Leech scored again with nine minutes left in the game. The Teal line of Alison Pollard, Ali Fernsell and Erin Mattila generated some dangerous scoring opportunities, as did the Red line of Morgan Sebor, Katie Dole, and Maura Doyle. The Wildcats will face off on Saturday afternoon against Phillips Exeter Academy, in what should be one of their toughest games of the season.
