Tonight at Akerstrom Arena the number four ranked Kimball Union mens hockey team defeated Lakes Region rival Tilton, 7-0. The Wildcats jumped out of the gates and were able to score two quick goals as Casey Miller '11 converted on the power play, and Elie Vered '12 scored a goal going hard to the net after linemate Tim Baylis '12 slipped a backhand pass across the ice. As the period progressed the Wildcats were able to convert two more opportunities; the teams third goal, a power play goal scored by Connor Evangelista '13, and the fourth a beautiful rebound snap shot that went top shelf by Jonathan Charbonneau '13. In the second both teams traded penalties and the pace was taken out of the game. Fortunately, in the third the Wildcats came out flying as Brandon Cole '13 capitalized as he drove the net hard and found the back of the goal. Less than two minutes later Cole drove the offensive blue line and found Jordan Babb '13 driving the net who caught a pass on his backhand and snapped it top shelf, a pretty, hard working goal. At the end of game, with under four minutes to go, Gregg Burmaster '13 ended the teams scoring as he picked up the seventh goal of the night. In goal Ryan Lund '13 stopped twenty shot as the Wildcats improve to 17-2-2. The team is back in action Next Wednesday as they travel to Northfield Mount Hermon.
