> The #4 ranked Kimball Union Academy Boys Hockey Team traveled to Exeter Academy to take on #2 ranked Exeter Academy. Exeter jumped out to an early 2-0 lead converting on a KUA defensive turnover and taking advantage of a partial breakaway. Even though KUA was down two they battled hard and were able to cut Exeter's lead in half before the period ended when Connor Evangelista's seeing eye wrister from the point found the back of the net. In the second KUA continued to carry the play but were stymied numerous times by the play of Exeter's goalie. The hard work finally paid off when Jonathan Charbonneau put away a Casey Miller pass. The second period ended 2-2. The third started quickly for Exeter as they took a 3-2 lead off a defensive breakdown by KUA. KUA again took the momentum but couldn't get the equalizer. It wasn't until the KUA goalie was pulled that KUA was able to answer. Finally Miller converted off a goal mouth feed from Elie Vered to tie the game. In OT KUA had to play the first two minutes shorthanded. The Wildcats, excellent on the PK all night long against Exeter's vaunted power play, were able to again kill off the penalty. Both teams were unable to convert as the game ended 3-3. Next up for the 16-2-2 ranked Wildcats is Tilton at home on Friday night at 5:30.
