The KUA Wildcats Beat the VA Wildcats 2-0

The Kimball Union Field Hockey team traveled to Vermont Academy to play for the first time in several years.  The VA Field Hockey team is once again recognized as a varsity program and is taking part in the Lakes Region tournament this year.  The game started as the KU Wildcats adjusted to the grass field.  Both teams worked the ball into their offensive zones before KUA began to possess the ball by playing a smarter game.  Maya Karosas put KUA on the board 17 minutes into the game with an initial pass from Hailey Hart to Maura Doyle and finally to Karosas who slipped it in past the goalie.

In the second half, Karosas found the goal again with a pass from Doyle.  The Wildcats has many more attempts and shots wide.  KU had 13 corners to VA’s 2 and 22 shots on goal.  Kells Casey had yet another shut out with one save recorded in net.

The KUA Wildcats host Hebron Academy on Saturday October 29 and Kents Hill on Sunday October 30.
