KUA Wins in Overtime

The Wildcats hosted the Proctor Academy Hornets this Parents Weekend.  The game started out in Proctor’s favor.  They played a smart offensive game resulting in a goal 15 minutes into the game.  While the Wildcats worked out the kinks, they began to switch fields well with the help of Storm Sidelou (Conttocook, NH), Shannon Sebor (Haverhill, NH) and Becky Young (Plainfield, NH).  Less than two minutes after Proctor’s goal, Maya Karosas (Stowe, VT) tied it up with a pass from Katey Spanos (Newport, NH).  KUA continued to knock on the door and Amelie Petersen (Hamburg, Germany)  answered with a sweep from the top of the circle to take the lead with 5 minutes left in the first half.

Second half, the Wildcats continued to dominate the play with smart passing and possession plays.  Proctor had a few breakaways and with less than five minutes remaining in the half, tied up the game with a cross from the left side.  Both teams scrambled to score the game winner but time ran out.

In overtime, Proctor began with a strong possession down in their offensive 25.  Eibhilin Whittemore (Springfield, NH) finally got the ball out to the forward line.  Karosas brought it down the left side and crossed to a waiting Maura Doyle (Merrimac, MA) who swept it in 4:19 into the OT to win the game.

Overall, KUA earned 9 corners and Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA) had 5 saves in the net.   KUA has a full schedule next week with a home game on Wednesday against Brewster followed by an away game at New Hampton on Friday and an away game at Tilton on Saturday.
