The KUA Boys’ lacrosse team traveled to Tilton Academy for a mid-week Lakes Region game. With temperatures in the mid 70s, fans and players alike anticipated a great afternoon of lacrosse. KUA jumped out early and quickly to a 6-1 lead by the end of the first quarter. Sam Wyskiel got the Wildcat momentum going off a feed from Drew Simoneau. Simoneau tallied his first of two a little over a minute later off a Chris Morse feed. Morse would go on to assist on another 4 goals. CJ Frates scored his first of three goals two minutes later off a Max Abendroth feed and then, with five minutes to go in the first quarter, Eric Wollrath scored his first of three, assisted by Morse. Jon Spencer completed the Wildcat first quarter scoring with two consecutive goals, his first and second of the season. At the half, KUA led 9-2.
KUA’s defense gave up little ground to the Tilton attack. Andrew Kelly, Miles Hancock, Brad Kimball, and Steve Swartz all shared D-pole duties. Spencer King scooped up 5 ground balls with his long pole, many in thick traffic, and moved the ball up field to lead the KUA transition on multiple occasions. LP Connor Bailey worked aggressively on the face-off wing, as did middies Ryan Lund, Mike Powell, and Tommy O’brien. Connor Barrett cleared effectively in the midfield and was able to get off 2 point blank shots after dodging from above the crease.
Goalie Tim McNair registered 16 saves. KUA (2-4) travels to Holderness to face Lakes Region League rival Holderness at 2pm.
