KUA falls to Proctor 10-8

Enduring yet another stormy Saturday, KUA and Proctor faced-off in frigid, wet conditions. Fortunately, the early morning snowfall left little accumulation on Pope Field and the game started on schedule.  Proctor jumped on top of KUA in the first quarter and fought back the determined Wildcats late in the game to earn the win. Proctor opened the scoring with three unanswered goals in the a span of 30 seconds before Eric Wollrath fed CJ Frates to get the home team on the board.  Proctor would add two more goals in the final minutes of the first quarter while KUA would only manage a second tally off a Drew Simoneau solo effort.

Chris Morse assisted on back to back goals by Frates in the second quarter and Simoneau scored his second assisted goal of the contest to narrow the Proctor lead to 8-5 at the half. KUA worked swiftly in the third quarter, scoring two quick goals and pulling within one at 8-7.   In the fourth, however, Proctor discovered its scoring touch again building a 10-7 cushion before KUA’s Dennis Kravchenko, off a Simoneau feed, cut the lead, and final score, to 10-8.

Andrew Kelly led the KUA defense with his tenacious, heads up defensive play. Goalies Santiago Morales and Tim McNair split the duties in net. KUA (1-4) travels to Tilton on Wednesday for a midweek game.
