KUA Avenges an Earlier Loss to the Tilton Rams

Despite a dismal shooting performance from both the floor (25%) and the free throw line (44%), KUA was able to knock off previously unbeaten Tilton School 40-30 today in Alumni Gymnasium. The Lady Wildcats took advantage of Tilton's cold shooting night by building a 22-12 half-time lead behind balanced scoring from 6 different players.  Defense and rebounding, however, were once again crucial to today's victory.  Emily Kelly was instrumental in shutting down Tilton's prolific scorer in the paint while Becca Deturk and Fiekah Fataar held the perimeter players at bay. Autumn Kariuki nearly missed recording a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds while Fataar cleaned up the glass hauling in a game-high 12 boards. Gabby Diaz didn't have her usual hot shooting hand from the floor but she more than made up for it by nailing 9 of 10 free throws, including 5 in the final minutes to seal the victory. Diaz also had 6 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 assists.

KUA improves to 8-1 and will travel to Holderness School on Saturday for a 4:30 tip-off.  Go Cats!
