KUA held Ethel Walker (5-5) to 9 first half points and just 19 for the game en route to their 7th victory overall. Rebecca DeTurk, Feikah Fataar, Gabby Diaz and Kaitie Sanders played excellent hustle defense throughout the contest. Emily Kelly played several crucial minutes and had 2 monster blocks for the second game in a row. Kelly also chipped in 4 points.
After coming off a 50% shooting night at Proctor on Thursday, the Cats went ice cold in this match-up. Nothing was falling so the team relied heavily upon its defense to overcome the visitors from Connecticut. Katey Spanos sparked the Wildcats with some nifty outside shooting and drives to the hoop (3-for-4 from the FT line) while Autumn Kariuki was strong in the post finishing with a game high 10 points.
KUA hosts unbeaten Tilton School on Wednesday at 2p.m. in Alumni Gymnasium. The Rams beat Kimball Union by 6 points in their first meeting for KUA's one and only loss.
